Candace Jackson is a college educated, talented,  fashionable  twenty-three(23)year old on a mission.  The mission you ask?  Make the USA World Team headed to Beijing  in 2015 and represent the USA at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 2016.   Candace , who has been running track since middle school,  is a  graduate of Skyline High School where she ranked #2 in the State of Texas while  in high school and #7 in the nation in2008. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2013 with a Bachelor in Arts and Sciences in Psychology.  On November 1, 2014, proud parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Jackson, will drive  their daughter to Phoenix, where she will reside and began training at the renown World Training Center in Phoenix, Arizona.  The coach in Phoenix remembers Candace from her high school days.

Candace Jackson’s litany of accomplishments are too many to chronicle in this article, but let me  cover some of the highlights.  She won multiple State Championships for Dallas Skyline.  Nine time NCAA AA-American.  Broke Texas Tech University School record in the 200 meter dash in 2011.  Qualified for the USA Trials in 2011.  Qualified for the NCAA Nationals for years 2010 to 2013.  She remains the current school record holder (Texas Tech) in the 4X1 and 4X4 meter relay.   In the Olympic Development Section, she won both the 4X1 and 4X4 Meter relays at the Penn Relays in 2014.

Candace and her family are active members of the Greater New Zion Baptist Church.  Her Dad, a former quartet singer,  sings with the Male Chorus and she is a member of the Genesis Young Adult Choir.

Candace is an exemplary role model  accompanied with good old fashioned American values and a direct manner.  When time permits Candace  is volunteering in her community and enjoying the company of an enthusiast young nephew.

Donations and sponsorships are needed for this young lady’s journey.  For the interim, make them directly  to her.  Feel  free to send donations  addressed to  Ester Davis, Staff Writer at the Dallas Post Tribune or Greater New Zion Baptist Church, where a historic celebration is brewing.
