The Comfort of God’s Presence Isaiah 43:2
|God wants all of His children to rise above their circumstances. The circumstances of life are so overwhelming to the extent that sometimes we succumb to it in despair. Your hardship in life might be the loss of a cherished loved one, the prospect of losing stable employment, poor and decaying health, misguided and rebellious children, a betrayal of trust by your intimate friend, or being lied on and maliciously mocked by others. Whatever the extent of your circumstance might be, I want you to digest this comforting thought: “God really cares about you.” Isn’t that an abiding and sustaining thought, even in the midst of the situation in which you find yourself? God cares about us because He made us and loves us.
For a child of God, there isn’t a situation confronting you that the Lord isn’t right there with you. When we are going through the valley of hardship and misfortune, I want to impress upon you that God is right there with you to minister unto you with His comforting presence. God has the power to comfort us in times of trouble, and He will never leave us alone, for He said in Matthew 28:20: “And, lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” In the midst of whatever you might be encountering in this evil age, God wants your undivided trust in Him, for He has promised us His abiding peace, for Isaiah 26:3 says: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusted in thee” If you really want to be fortified for the plight to which you find yourself, you need to wholly trust in the omnipotence of God.
If God can sustain and uphold a vast universe, and keep it together, don’t you know that He can sustain your troubled heart? Don’t you know that if God can feed the birds of the air that He too cares for us? As we are undergoing the various trials of life, let us rest in God, and He will be a source of tremendous strength for us, in that Isaiah 26:4 says: “Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.” God isn’t indifferent to the things that we are going through, but He wants us to trust Him in the midst of what we are going through. God will not exempt us from going through hard times, but He has promised that ‘I will be right there with you.’
