Stop, drop and roll. Hartford deputizes 200 junior fire marshals for a blazing fire safety day

What: More than 200 students at Frederick Douglass Elementary School will be deputized as Junior Fire Marshals – turning everyday kids into everyday heroes. Dallas Fire-Rescue and Texas Rangers baseball legend, Michael Young will join The Hartford, which is set to donate $20,000 to Dallas ISD to help educate children about the importance of fire safety and prevention. Students in kindergarten through second grade will have the opportunity to meet local firefighters, tour the inside of a fire truck, and experience a simulated fire and smoke demonstration for a hands-on fire safety day.
