Harry Maurice Croxton Sr.

MAY 12, 1947 – APRIL 6, 2019

Harry Maurice Croxton, Sr. was born to Charles Spilman Croxton, Jr. and Julia Ann Shelton Croxton in Baltimore, Maryland on May 12, 1947. Harry lived a full and rewarding life until April 6, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Joan Gibson Croxton, his son Harry Maurice Croxton, Jr., two grandsons, Harry Croxton III and Marquese Croxton, cousins, nieces and nephews. Harry is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Charles E. Croxton.

Harry graduated from Morgan State University in Baltimore and he served as Airborne Mission Supervisor with the U.S. Air Force National Security Agency where he became fluent in the Chinese language.

Harry worked for the Internal Revenue Service where his journey led him to Texas. After his departure from IRS in 1986, Harry was Tax Practice Manager for R.E. D. and later Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer for JD & Associates, Inc. Harry launched his independent tax consulting business in 1996, first as HMC Consulting Group, Inc. and later as Croxton & Croxton, Inc. where he was an Enrolled Agent with IRS and Texas Real Estate Broker. During 2004-2013, he also worked as Chief Financial Officer for Harrington, Moran, Barksdale, Inc.

Harry was an active volunteer in the community where he was Past Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee with Arlington Board of Realtors, Past Commissioner of The City of Arlington Planning and Zoning Commission, and current Chairman of the Board of Directors for Arlington Heritage Memorial Grounds Corporation. Harry also served on the Community Influence Leaders Roundtable for Arlington Chamber of Commerce.

Harry was a life member of Morgan State University National Alumni Association, life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and a founding member of Delta Mu Boulé, Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.

Family and friends celebrated Harry’s life on Wednesday, April 10.
