“Rapping with the Fairy” WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT THE START OF SCHOOL?
10 yrs. old – 5th grade
After the first few months, school usually gets old and boring to most kids. Without constant supervision and monitoring, sometimes it’s difficult to stay on track and keep up with the subjects that are being taken and the classes that are needed. Many times we take our children for granted in not knowing and understanding that they themselves realize that their future must be planned in order for success to be achieved. Recently I met a young lady that has her goals laid out and her priorities in the correct order!
Lydia: “School is really important to me and I know that I want to go to college after I finish high school. I know that in order for me to have a better life when I’m an adult, I’ll need to get a degree! Right now, I love school. Math and science are my favorite subjects. Especially math! I feel like the whole world revolves around math. I guess I’ll be in school for the next 14 or 15 years but in a way that’s not a long time from now when you consider I’m only 10 years old now. I’ll have to pass all my subjects and do good and I’m going to! I plan on being a Pediatrician surgeon so that I can make babies feel better! The best advice I could give other kids would be to stay in school and not to give up! Kids should concentrate on school and not focus so much on a girl or boy friend. We should focus on passing our studies so that we can finish this year and the rest of our education. I guess that I wouldn’t mind teaching either!
Fairy: I sure admire Lydia for taking a realistic look at her life and her future. Of course one has to be realistic when planning for their future in order to achieve success. Kids, I know that you’re making sound and secure plans of your own! Don’t forget there are counselors that you probablycan meet with with to aid in your planning and don’t forget also to include your parent or guardian! Make sure you’re on target by taking the courses you need for completion of your goals and you’ll be well on your way to a bright and rewarding life in the future!
