|WATER-WISE TOUR SHOWCASES BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES THAT USE LESS WATER
Now in its 20th year, the popular Water-Wise Landscape Tour will be held in Dallas from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7. Water-wise landscaping focuses on the use of plants native to North Texas or adapted to our climate. These plants naturally thrive in our summer heat with little supplemental watering. The annual Water-Wise Landscape Tour is a free, self-guided tour showcasing the best of the best North Texas Water-Wise landscapes. Guests can choose their own route and visit as many landscapes as they like. Tour maps can be downloaded at SaveDallasWater.com or picked up at one of the three tour headquarters in Dallas:
•Central Headquarters: White Rock Pump Station, 2900 White Rock Road
• North Headquarters: Texas A&M AgriLife Center, 17360 Coit Road
• South Headquarters: Lake Cliff Park, E. Colorado Blvd. & N. Zang Blvd.

Dallas ISD to host Job Fair for Teachers

Dallas ISD HCM department is hiring teachers in all certificationareas, including English language arts, special education, social studies,ESL, and elementary generalists. The job fair will provide information about signing incentives for bilingual education, science and
mathematics.
Interested candidates must register online at www.dallasisd.org/hcmjobfair and bring their registration confirmation to the event. They must also bring a teaching certificate or other document to prove their teaching eligibility.
Alternative Certification Program seeks applicants
The Dallas Independent School District is taking measures to beef up its Alternative Certification Program (ACP) in recruitment of new teachers for the 2014 – 2015 school year. The district identified critical areas most needed as bilingual, math, science and Spanish.
The deadline for applicants in math, science and Spanish has been extended to May 30. The bilingual deadline has been pushed back to June 27.
