Make Summer Educational and Fun
|Though most students are anxious to dive into some summer fun, parents must be reminded of the many opportunities that exist to extend learning into the summer season while students are out of school.
Beat the heat with a visit to a local museum. The Dallas Museum of Art has classes for students of varying age ranges for as little as $5 to $8 dollars or plan a trip to the Rory Meyers Children’s Garden at the Dallas Arboretum, the Dallas Zoo or the Texas Discovery Gardens where students can study and interact with nature without even realizing they are learning science-based concepts.
The Dallas ISD will host free, full day summer enrichment camps where students will have opportunities to study dance, music or STEM-based lessons in conjunction with Big Thought and Dallas City of Learning where students can engage in online learning opportunities that will guide them on exploratory learning adventures for which they can earn badges.
