|Introducing: Rev. Alfred Walker
We are so excited to share the news that Rev. Walker will be our new Community Regional Minister!
Community Regional Minister for Reconciliation and Anti-Racism
At the February 25, 2021 called Regional Council meeting of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest, the Regional Council voted to extend the call to
Rev. Alfred Walker to serve as Community Regional Minister for Reconciliation and Anti-Racism, localized and providing core regional services to South Central Texas and the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
Rev. Walker is currently serving as the Senior Minister of Bonnie View Christian Church in Dallas, Texas. He has also served as Staff Chaplain with Baylor Scott & White Health. Before uniting with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Rev. Walker had significant pastoral experience with Baptist Churches, most recently with the New Hope Baptist Church in Dallas Texas. He is an honorably discharged Navy Veteran, loving husband and father. Both Rev. Walker and the search committee chair, Rev. Philip Dukes, spoke of the sense of calling Rev. Walker feels for this ministry. We rejoice in this new calling and look forward to the Lord’s work.
