FORMER PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH’S WIFE – LAURA BUSH AWARDS $5,000 GRANTS TO ENHANCE LIBRARIES AT THREE DALLAS ISD SCHOOLS
|The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries has awarded $5,000 each to three Dallas Independent School District campuses to enhance their library book and magazine collections.
A. Maceo Smith New Tech High School, Robert T. Hill Middle School, and T.W. Browne Middle School are three of just 219 schools nationwide to receive a grant. The funds will be used to
expand, update and diversify the recipients’ library book collections. In Dallas ISD, schools plan to purchase books to support their diverse enrollment of students.
The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries was founded in 2002 as a fund of The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region. Since its inception, the Laura Bush Foundation has awarded more than $11.5 million to schools in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Marshall Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands.
