DALLAS ISD HOME-RULE COMMISSION ELECTS OFFICERS

The Dallas ISD home-rule charter commission committee met Monday night to discuss how the district will operate, spend money and be governed, if voters approve of the new charter. This will determine how all of Dallas’ ISD schools operate, if voters pass the constitution in November.

They also elected their commission officers
1st Vice- Chair – Ron Oliver
2nd Vice-Chair – Jerome Garza
Secretary – Shirley Ison-Newsome

The deadline to have the charter written, so the home-rule issue appears on the November ballot, is August 18.
