Texas State Representative Helen Giddings (D-Dallas) offers the following statement to Mr. Tasby’s family and friends: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Sam Tasby during this most difficult time. Mr. Tasby was a courageous man and father, who helped open the doors in Dallas ISD for all students, regardless of the color of their skin. His unyielding dedication to education for the children of Dallas will never be forgotten, and will always be appreciated. We will continue to try to live up to his rule of thumb – no matter the task, large or small, do it as best as it can possibly be done.”
