Corporations Celebrate Earth Month at the Trinity
|The Trinity River Conservation Corps’ 2nd Annual Corporate Day of Service was held recently and corporate leaders and teams worked alongside each other to clean up the Trinity River corridor and provide “helping hands” with restorative work. This area along the Trinity River is one of Dallas’ unique and wonderful natural resources. The day of volunteer work was made possible through a partnership with Southwest Airlines Co., The Trinity Trust Foundation and the City of Dallas.
Three 15 yard dumpsters were filled with trash and debris as it was removed from the corridor, invasive species were pulled, and volunteers also made seed balls for sowing and future planting events.
Southwest Airlines Co. formed the Trinity River Conservation Corps (TRCC) in 2013 and donated $150,000 for a three year program. The vision and purpose of the TRCC is to coordinate and manage annual volunteer events for the conservation and upkeep of the Trinity River corridor and the Great Trinity Forest.
