Decision comes following a letter from Congresswoman Johnson to FEMA Administrators requesting increased federal investment in Dallas County vaccination efforts

Washington, D.C. – Wednesday, February 10, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30), Dean of the Texas Congressional Delegation, released the following statement after the announcement by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of two new federally supported vaccine sites in the DFW Metroplex.

“The COVID-19 vaccine is the only way to bring an end to this pandemic. I have been working tirelessly with the White House, as well as with local and state leaders, to bring as many shots to our region as quickly as possible,” said Congresswoman Johnson. “That is why I am pleased that FEMA has announced this morning the establishment of three federally supported vaccination sites – two of which will directly serve North Texas. These sites will be critical in expanding access to vaccines for underserved and marginalized communities.”

The federal operations, expected to begin the week of February 22nd, will provide an increase of thousands of shots per site. One site will be located at Fair Park in Dallas, and the other will be at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Registration details for each site will be announced in the coming days.
