Congresswoman Johnson Announces Support for the Supreme Court Decision in June Medical Services v. Russo

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson announced her support for the Supreme Court decision in June Medical Services v. Russo, which declared that the Louisiana admitting privileges law is unconstitutional, thus preserving access to critical reproductive care for over one million women of reproductive age across the state.

“The possibility of considering abortion restrictions is a major concern for my constituents and communities. As the first registered nurse elected to Congress, I believe these types of medical decisions should be reserved for a patient and their trusted provider.
