Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson to Host the Third Annual Dallas Hunger Summit
|On Friday, September 5, 2014 Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson will host the third annual Dallas Hunger Summit at Mountain View College.
The Hunger Summit will bring together representatives from nonprofit organizations, diverse faith congregations, the business community, the health community, social service agencies, and governmental entities. The event will facilitate the exchange of ideas by convening organizations that have maximum impact on reducing food insecurity and hunger among seniors, children, and families in Dallas County.
According to Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap, more than 484,000 people in Dallas County are food-insecure and worry about how they will put food on the table each day. More than 172,000 of those who are food-insecure are children.
