Congratulations! Dr. Mary E. Beck, D. Mins. PhD. “A Distinguished Dove”

The upsilon Nu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. voted for Dr. Beck to represent the chapter as it’s distinguished Dove “at the Mighty Southern, Region conference June 12-15, 2019 in Shreveport Louisiana.
The Distinguished Dove Award is the highest honor given by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to a member.

In 1957, Dr. Beck was initiated into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Through the Theta Chapter at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. She became active with the Kappa Zeta Chapter in Dallas, Texas. In 2005, she became a charter member of Upsilon Nu Zeta, where she severed as the Parliamentarian, and has served the Sisterhood in various capacities since her initiation sixty-two years ago by holding the offices of 1st Vice President and Parliamentarian.
She has chaired or served on the following committees: Membership, Blue Revenue, Share and Care, Finer Womanhood and Stork’s Nest. Dr. Beck is the first Golden Life Member in Kappa Zeta and the first in the “Mighty Southern Region.” In 1999 she received the Barbara West Carpenter Volunteerism Award presented by the Southern Region of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.

At press time, Dr. Beck, stated “I am grateful and highly honored to have inspired, encouraged, and propelled the “Finer Woman” honoring the principles of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority for sixty-two years.
I know my “mentors” who are home with the “Lord” will be with the might Southern Region Conference to cheer my nomination for this prestigious award. Dr. Kendall Beck, Theta Mu Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma, Dr. Lullelia W. Harrison (Theta Chapter) Dr. Deborah P. Wolfe, Mother Mildred West and sister Isabel M. Herson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Today, I thank God for their love and service to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
