Join the Friends of the Dallas Municipal Archives as we celebrate the release of journalist and author Darwin Payne’s new memoir. This is an exclusive fundraiser event by the Friends of the Dallas Municipal Archives and will include a conversation with the author and a very rare opportunity to view close-up original Dallas Police Department JFK investigation documents and photographs. Mr. Payne will also be available to sign books. Limited supply of books onsite, outside books welcome. Suggested $20 donation at the door.

To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the Dallas Municipal Archives will display original documents, photographs and objects associated with the Dallas Police Department’s investigation of the incident. The exhibit, in the City Hall lobby, will highlight the processes and methods of crime scene investigation and reporting in use in 1963.

In remembrance of the 60th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas on November 23, 1963, filmmaker Quin Mathews and the Dallas Public Library present an updated version of his 2013 documentary film, City of Hate: Dallas and the Assassination.
The film will be introduced by director Quin Mathews with time for Q&A after the film. Join us in the first floor Auditorium in the Central Library for this special presentation!

Organized by The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Two Days in Texas is a special exhibition revisiting President Kennedy’s 1963 trip to Texas through eyewitness accounts and his own words. This exhibition takes a new approach to telling the story of the assassination by tracing the President’s footsteps through each of the cities on his last presidential tour. In commemorating 60 years since the tragic assassination, Two Days in Texas reflects on the President’s time in Texas and the experiences of everyday Texans who he encountered through the perspective of today.
