AMBER RILEY CROWNED NEW DANCING WITH THE STARS WINNER

(AP) -A new champion has been crowned for the 17th season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

“Glee” star Amber Riley and her partner Derek Hough won the top prize. The competition was narrowed down to Riley, Corbin Bleu and Jack Osbourne after Bill Engvall was eliminated.

Actress and recording artist Amber Riley can add the words “Dancing With The Stars” winner to her resume Riley, best known for her breakthrough role on “Glee,” won the title and the coveted “Dancing With The Stars” mirror ball trophy during an intense season finale Tuesday.

“I didn’t know if I could do it, and anything that scares me I want to do, so I want to let women of all sizes out there know you can do whatever you set your mind to. It doesn’t matter what size you are, what color you are, you can do whatever, whatever, whatever you put your mind to,” Riley shared with ABC shortly after the win.

Corbin Bleu accepted second place with dancing partner Karina Smirnoff.

“I thank God for this experience. I thank my family, I thank my best partner in the world,” said Bleu.

Amber Riley and Corbin Bleu were standout performers early in the season, earning strong scores from the panel of judges, including Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

Derek Hough was Amber Riley’s dancing partner and instructor this season.
