A Little Bit of Faith: Your Future is Set

Debra Washington-WadeNow that the New Year has rolled in, you may be wondering what to do next with your life. Some of us made New Year resolutions and we may have broken our resolutions already.  If this is you, don’t lose hope, God has a plan for your life.  In the book of Jeremiah it says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,’” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Since God has a plan for your life, there is no need to beat yourself up because you may have broken your New Year’s resolution already.  God’s plan is greater and brighter than anything you can imagine. What you need to do this year is try to latch on to God more closely in the New Year.  Take time to seek His will for your life. Find some quiet time in the morning to start your day with Him. Even if it’s just five minutes, put God first in your day.

When you are willing to seek God first, the Bible says He will listen to you. “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you” (Jeremiah 29:12).  God is pleased when we seek His will and His way.  When He sees us doing this, it pleases Him.  This is why there is no need to make arbitrary New Year resolutions, when you have God on your side, your future is set. Amen? Amen.
