Have you been pleading with God to take a heavy burden from you? All of us have asked God to take a burden from us at some point in our lives, but the Bible says God’s grace is sufficient. In the book of 2 Corinthians it says, “Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power will rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:8-9).

Why would God want us to be weak for his power to be “made perfect”? You would think He would prefer for us to be strong already. This is what the world teaches us.  We are taught to be strong, independent, and know our own worth. We are also taught that we should not show the world any weakness if we are to succeed in life.

This is the beauty of our faith. When we are weak, we are strong because our strength is found in our Lord and Savior.  If we are to have God’s grace, we must rejoice in it. For we know that we do not deserve His grace and yet He (God) freely gives it to us. The word grace in the Greek meaning of it means to rejoice.

We are to rejoice in God’s grace because His grace is sufficient enough for us.  You don’t need to be strong, God’s grace is our strength. Enough said! Amen? Amen.
