A GREAT ENTREPRENEUR AND PHILANTHROPIST MR. FRED HAROLD HEARNS WILL BE MISSED (1948 – 2014)

Mr. Fred Harold Hearns (1948 – 2014) age 65, entered through Heaven’s gates Friday, May 16, 2014. He was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on August 10, 1948 and held residences in Tuscaloosa, AL, Bronx, NY, and Dallas, TX. Devoted son to Eunice and the late Prince Hearns. Loving parent with Ermy Hearns to three daughters, Cyneitra, Karisha, and Euneisha Hearns. Cherished brother of Gladys Jackson, Lois McGhee, Prince Hearns, Gaines Hearns, Dorothy “Snow” Butler, and Pauline “Joyce” Whitaker.

He graduated from Druid High School in Alabama and attended Jarvis College and East Texas State University before receiving his degree in Business and Economics.

A great entrepreneur, philanthropist of higher education, and a friend of many, his sense of humor and compassion will be sorely missed. Wake will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 beginning at 7:00 pm at Rollins Mortuary, 2701 Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. Homegoing service will take place on Friday, May 23, 2014 at St. Peter AME Zion, 3303 26th Street, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 beginning at 12 noon.
