Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church will host its 2nd Appreciation Services for their Pastor, Rev. Rudolph Phillips and First Lady Regenia Phillips on Sunday, August 14, 2016. The Pastor’s Appreciation Committee, co-chaired by Associate Minister, Rev. Conway James and his wife, Johnnie James, have planned a joy filled Sunday sure to welcome  the Holy Spirit to have His way.  This year’s theme is: “A Pastor perfecting the Saints for the work of the ministry.” Ephesians 4:11. Over the past year, Pastor Phillips has spearheaded a major church campaign to focus on the following target areas: (1) Community Outreach, which includes missionary assignments and neighborhood canvassing, (2) Bible Study, (3) Tithing, (4) Leadership training, and (5) Church building renovation.  The Pastor’s endeavors have been manifested through prayer, meditation, fasting and member support. First Lady Regenia has exemplified and personified the term, “helpmeet,” as found in Genesis 2:18. Her commitment to her Pastor and her tireless work in church emulates a mental and spiritual compatibility.  The loving couple lives by the mantra, “God First, God’s Will and God’s Servant.”  Their young adult daughter Rachael can be found dividing her time between attending Sam Houston State University and lending a helping hand around the church. Morning worship starts at 10:30 a.m., and the speaker is Rev. Dwayne Bradford, Pastor of Samaritan Bible Way Church in Dallas, Texas.  Immediately following morning worship, at 2:00 p.m., members and guests will attend a fellowship luncheon at the Clarion Hotel in DeSoto, Texas. The speaker for the luncheon is Rev. Von Carl Thomas, Pastor of New Founder’s Missionary Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas. Both services will include the Spoken Word, inspirational singing, youth and auxiliary presentations.  The attire for the occasion is classic black and summer white. Luncheon tickets are $25 and can be purchased by contacting the church office at (214) 376-3110. The church administrative assistants, LaShawna Bailey and Royce Taylor, are on call to answer inquiries. Everything else is free because Jesus already paid the price. Therefore, all are invited and welcome to join us for this spectacular occasion.
