DALLAS – Wells Fargo & Company unveiled today the newest addition to their Wells Fargo Community Mural program, a mural featuring an early view of the 2000 block of Greenville Avenue, the Hockaday School, the Arcadia Theater sign, Fair Park, the Dallas train depot, White Rock Lake, and local residents.

Images featured in the mural were provided by the Dallas Historical Society, the Dallas Mexican American Historical League, the Dallas Public Library, the Dallas Municipal Archives, The Hockaday School, the University of North Texas, Hardin-Simmons University, Texas State Library and Archives Commission, the Library of Congress, and the David Rumsey Map Collection.

“We are honored to be part of this project and welcome our 26th mural in Greater Dallas, an effort designed to honor and celebrate this great community in all its diversity and uniqueness, because that’s at the heart of who we are as a company,” said Region Bank President for Greater Dallas, Scott Wallace. “Every day we strive to be the best financial institution we can be, not only by helping our customers succeed financially, but also by contributing to our communities. Celebrating our history and heritage and all we have achieved is part of that commitment.”

The Wells Fargo Community Mural Program is dedicated to creating unique, custom-designed, historical artwork that respects the community’s legacy, celebrates its diversity, and honors the past upon which the community was founded. Wells Fargo murals are graphically designed photo collages, printed on a variety of materials and incorporated into many different settings. From small towns to big cities, custom murals have been installed in over 2,400 Wells Fargo locations nationwide, reflecting Wells Fargo’s commitment to the communities it serves. To date, Wells Fargo has installed 361 unique murals across the state of Texas, with the Lower Greenville mural marking the company’s 26th to be installed in Dallas.

“This program offers an incredible opportunity to bring the community together in celebration and commemoration,” said Beth Currie, Wells Fargo’s Mural Program Director. “It is our hope that each mural creates a lasting tribute to each community and continues to inspire the exploration of our shared history.”

As part of this event, Wells Fargo leaders presented a $5,000 donation to Interfaith Housing, a local organization working to empower families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty through their Financial Empowerment Program. This program focuses on providing financial coaching while helping families reduce debt and build a safety net of $500 or more in savings.
