Volunteers Help to Make National Voter Registration Day Successful

The Dallas County Elections Department in conjunction with the League of Women Voters participated in a one day event, the National Voter Registration Day on September 24, 2013 with over 950 volunteer organizations from across the country registering people to vote.

Locally, the South East Dallas Business & Professional Women’s Club partnered with the South Central Dallas BPW Club to target students at the Lincoln Magnet High School in South Dallas on Tuesday, September 24th to register eligible students and faculty members from 10:00am -2:00pm. South East Dallas BPW Club President, Mary Luckey recruited volunteers to answer questions about the upcoming election and the new Voter ID Laws. Volunteers at Lincoln were South East Dallas Club President Mary Luckey, Diane Wright Jones, Delores Salter, South Central Dallas Club President Lorene Eutsey, Minnie Turner, Geneva Hayes, Norma Chambers, Mary Oye, and Rita Eutsey.
