These three black women have set the bar for education VERY HIGH in their families. The grandmother, Alma Jean Stephens Jones, was a valedictorian graduate of Pemberton High School in Marshall, Texas. The mother, KrisSandra Jones Demus, graduated from 3 different colleges with her Associate in Science degree from Southwestern Christian College, Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, and M.Ed. Degree from Texas A&M University in Commerce. KrisSandra completed each degree in a year and a half with a 3.954 GPA for her Master’s Degree, making all A’s and one B. Finally, the oldest granddaughter out of 4 female grandchildren who are ALL named after their maternal grandmother is Jeanae Symone Demus. She graduated Cum Laude in 3 years with her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management degree from Prairie View A&M University on the 28th anniversary of her mother pledging with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

Jeanae plans to attend Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.

The family has dedicated their Christian life as Church of Christ Saints.

The recent graduate wore a scripture on her graduation stole around her neck quoting Jeremiah 29:11 “For I Know The Plans I Have For You, Declares The Lord,…Plans To Give You A Hope And A Future.” The mother stated that “We are examples and living proof of Philippians 4:13 that I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me and that it has definitely been a journey but ALL so worth the wait…To God Be The Glory!!!”
