Hawkins, TX – Jarvis Christian College is proud to announce that Betheny Sargent, a 2015 graduate of the College, has been accepted into a prestigious Pre-Law Academy at Charlotte School of Law in Charlotte, NC.

The Pre-Law Academy at Charlotte School of Law provides prospective law students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) an experience that prepares them for success in law school.

Students who participate in the Pre-Law Academy are provided invaluable benefits and opportunities through their participation and have the opportunity to network with law school faculty, students, administrators, and key individuals in the legal community. Once a student successfully completes the Pre-Law Academy, he or she will be offered admission to the Charlotte School of Law, or any other law school within the InfiLaw Consortium; provided they have taken the LSAT exam and fulfilled the J.D. admission requirements by the school’s deadline. They will also join other PLA students in a mentoring program for minority law school students.

Miss Sargent plans to study law at Emory School of Law, John Marshall School of Law, Georgia State University School of Law or Charlotte School of Law, and plans to focus her legal studies and career on Civil Rights, Communications, and/or Education.
