Parkland to host breastfeeding fairs in August

DALLAS –In observance of World Breastfeeding Week (celebrated Aug. 1-7), Parkland will host its annual Breastfeeding Awareness and Community Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the private dining room at Parkland Memorial Hospital, 5200 Harry Hines Blvd., Dallas, 75235. The event is free and open to the public.

A second event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the deHaro-Saldivar Women’s Health Center located at 1400 N. Westmoreland Rd., Dallas, 75211. The event is also free and open to the public.

Breastfeeding is recognized by health experts as the best source of nutrition for most infants. At the events, mothers will receive information from Parkland’s lactation consultants and other community health organizations.
