Northern Texas PGA Foundation Continues PGA HOPE Program for Veterans

DALLAS, TX – The Northern Texas PGA Foundation is proud to continue its partnership with PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of The PGA of America, to provide PGA HOPE programming across northern Texas this spring.

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is a therapeutic adaptive-golf program aiming to introduce Veterans to the game of golf and enhance their mental, social, emotional and physical well-being. Sessions are taught by specially trained local PGA Professionals and include all necessary equipment. Each program is designed to meet two hours a week for six weeks and finishes with a graduation ceremony and tournament.

PGA HOPE is offered complimentary to interested Veterans. Please see the schedule below for PGA HOPE programming in the DFW Metroplex for the Spring of 2020:

 

Dallas, TX | Luna Vista Golf Course

Lead Instructor: Brooks Muse, PGA, USMC

Sundays, March 15 – April 19 (Skipping Easter) | 3:00 – 5:00 pm

Graduation: April 26

 

Trophy Club, TX | Trophy Club Country Club

Lead Instructor: Mark Fontana, PGA, USAF

Saturdays, April 18 – May 16 | 4:00 – 6:00 pm

Graduation: May 23

Registration closes one week prior to each starting date.

The Northern Texas PGA is one of 41 Sections of the PGA of America and its geographic territory includes the State of Texas north of the 31st latitude, or just north of Austin. The Northern Texas PGA is comprised of approximately 850 PGA members and associates employed at more than 300 facilities.

The Northern Texas PGA has 16 full-time staff members and is currently headquartered in Dallas. The Northern Texas PGA will be joining the PGA of America national office relocation to Frisco in 2022 with its own state of the art headquarters on the PGA Frisco campus.
