MADDMothers Against Drunk Driving Holds Candlelight Vigil in Tribute to Impaired Driving Victims in North Texas- On Thursday, December 11, 2014, the North Texas Affiliate of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) will host its annual Candlelight Vigil of Remembrance and Hope at the DoubleTree Dallas/Richardson Hotel located at 1981 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m.

 

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is hosting a free health and wellness event this Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9-3 p.m. at Fair Park Embarcadero Building in Dallas. Free flu shots and bags of groceries will be given (as supplies last). With the Dec. 15 deadline to enroll or re-enroll in health insurance to receive coverage by Jan. 1, 2015. The 2015 health insurance enrollment period opened on November 15, 2014, and will continue through February 15, 2015. For coverage to begin January 1, 2015, consumers need to enroll or re-enroll in their health plan by December 15, 2014.

 

2014 MetroPCS Dallas Marathon, Half Marathon and Behringer Relay announced a course entertainment lineup for the Dec. 14 event that includes live bands and performers, neighborhood block parties and dedicated cheer zones, and the Miller Lite Post-Race Party headlined by popular 1980s cover band Live 80. Performances kick off at 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, and will last throughout the day. Beginning Saturday evening and continuing through sunrise on race morning, spectators will enjoy a memorable marathon-themed light show from Reunion Tower. The MetroPCS Dallas Marathon, Half Marathon and Behringer Relay are Sunday, Dec. 14.
