|Dallas ISD minority students lead in AP performance
Approximately $2.1 million in college tuition savings. That is the amount Dallas ISD minority students saved in college tuition costs by passing one or more Advanced Placement (AP) exams last May. This group of students led the nation in the number of qualifying scores on AP exams in subjects such as math, science and English.
Neighborhood groups encouraged to join fall cleanup efforts;
Deadline to register for Operation: Beautification
The City of Dallas is encouraging neighborhood groups to join Operation: Beautification – a citywide fall cleanup effort being held Saturday Nov. 8.
The City will coordinate with participating groups to provide out-of-schedule trash collection for neighborhoods that choose to join this special event, being held for the sixth time.
A total of 22 groups participated in spring 2014 and collected more than 20.4 tons of trash citywide.
