MLK Center hosts “Pathway to Freedom” Exhibit Grand Opening and Press Conference on January 15, 2015

pathwaytofreedomWhat: The Dallas Civil Rights Museum at the MLK, Jr. Community Center will host a press conference on Thursday, January 15, 2015 for the grand opening of “Pathway to Freedom,” a historical traveling exhibit created by students for students. The exhibit will be on display from January 15, 2015 until March 5, 2015. This event marks the kick-off of the 33rd Annual Dr. MLK, Jr. Birthday Celebration.

This is a networking event designed to allow interaction with students from the International NET XChange Group.

Information: This exhibit was created to bring awareness to the experiences and artifacts the students saw while on tour to learn about the Underground Railroad, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Trail of Tears. Enjoy poetry from Olinka Green and hear from the program sponsor, Yolanda Davis.
