Lifetime Experience

Alison Geason, a Senior at the School of Health Profession at Yvonne A. Ewell Magnet Center Dallas Independent School District in Dallas, TX had a once in a lifetime experience this summer. She had the opportunity to participate in a medical internship and attend medical school in Ahmedabad Gujarat, India for seventeen days with Youth Future International.

There were fifty‐six students from throughout the United States with Alison being the only one from Dallas. Alison along with other students had the experience of working side by side with physicians as they treated patients and perform procedures in the emergency room, outpatient clinics, and medical wards as well as in operating rooms. The students dissected cadavers and observed a natural birth and gallbladder surgery. After participating in the internship in India.  Alison still has a desire to become a pediatric surgeon. She also has gained a cultural experience  seeing how life in India is so different from being in the United States.
