National Parental Involvement Day:

November 19 marks National Parental Involvement Day across America. It is imperative that parents make it a point to be present and involved their children’s lives and academic progress each and every day. Below, are a few ways for parents to get involved with their children:

1.  Share expectations and set goals together with your child.

2. Meet your child’s friends and get to know their parents.

3. Make family trips to the library, zoo, museum or park, a fun learning experience.

Principal for a Day:

Schools across Dallas ISD opened their doors to community volunteers for the annual Principal for a Day event. The event aims to form ongoing partnerships between individuals and businesses with Dallas ISD while increasing awareness and understanding among individuals in the public sector regarding the strengths and challenges of district schools.

More than 100 people participated in the event from banks and local businesses, non-profit organizations, state legislative entities and other organizations.

Thank you to those who visited schools in District 6 as part of the Principal for a Day effort.
