Marion Carroll Hall Izanhour NaborsMarion Carroll Hall Izanhour Nabors was the fifth of six children and the only daughter born to the late Rev. Aldon Edgar and Iola Davidson Hall. Marion was preceded in death by four of her brothers.

After a long illness, Marion took her place in God’s Kingdom on November 29, 2014. She left this world at 12:30 a.m. at Promise Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Marion accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Marion was born in Marshall, Texas. She received her education from Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas, Texas. She completed her undergraduate work at Prairie View A&M University and Bishop College. Her graduate studies were completed at Southern Methodist University, University of Dallas and the University of North Texas.

As a dedicated English teacher, Marion was employed with the Dallas Public School system for over 20 years and in the Post Arthur Public School System for 4 years. She served as an adjunct professor at El Centro Community College, Cedar Valley Community College, and DeVry Technical Institute. At her home, Marion spent many hours tutoring students for various standardized tests. She attempted through tutoring, to give all children and equal chance at obtaining the American dream and attaining academic excellence. To many of her “children,’ she was Mama Nabors, and she will be remembered as such.

Marion leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Inetha Iola Izanhour Sheffield; son-in-law, Walter Sheffield; granddaughter, Angelique Danae Sheffield; brothers, god children, and a host of nieces, great nieces and nephews. Four special friends: Joyce M. Martin, Linda Bodle, Clifton Todd, and Rev. Columbus Hill and name sake Marion Duffy.
