DART plans service changes March 14
|Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) customers should plan to obtain new timetables and schedules before Monday, March 14, when one of the system’s busiest rail stations undergoes a name change, and service changes designed to improve ridership and on-time performance take place on several bus routes.
Bush Turnpike Station will officially become CityLine/Bush Station to better identify with its rapidly changing surroundings; specifically, the $1.5 billion in transit-oriented-development currently taking place at that location.
A number of the changes involve improvements to weekend service, including new weekend trips on parts of several routes that do not have this service now. In addition, a new Glenn Heights On Call midday service will be added. Trips can be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from anywhere in the On-Call zone to the Wal-Mart on Wheatland Road, and vice versa.
Several services will be discontinued, including Routes 234, 503, and the Richardson On Call Zone.
Route details are available by calling DART Customer Service at 214.979.1111 or by going online to DART.org for schedule adjustments to routes 11, 21, 24, 26, 29, 49, 60, 111, 164, 208, 234, 361, 385, 401, 408, 410, 415, 444, 463, 486, 488, 500, 503, 507, 510, 525, 526, 527, 529, 531, 533, 534, 536, 549, 583, 722, 887 and 987.
