DALLAS POLICE CHIEF DAVID BROWNWhen asked whether he will resign, Chief Brown said Wednesday: in an email “Through my faith, I embrace the challenges ahead.”

Brown, has held the job of Chief since 2010, he responded to the turmoil Monday by calling for prayers from people of faith. Brown’s department is currently challenged by growing response times, a spike in violent crime this year, higher-than-usual attrition numbers and low morale.

Brown has also vowed to fight for higher pay for officers to be more competitive with surrounding cities, Cletus Judge, the local Black Police Association of Greater Dallas’ president, has defended Brown’s leadership.
