Kalva Sue ScottSeptember 6, 1972 – August 1, 2015

Kalva Sue Scott was born in Dallas, Texas to Calvin John Scott, Jr. and Sue Addie Jameson Scott on September 6, 1972. At a young age Kalva became interested in music by watching her mother teach private piano lessons to students throughout the community. By the age of 3 years old, Kalva was not only attempting to play the melodies she heard but to sing them also. As she became older and matriculated through the Dallas Independent School District, her musical talents become increasingly recognizable. While attending W.H. Atwell Academy, her teacher and mentor Gloria H. Lett recognized Kalva’s versatile musical attributes and began to recruit her to participate in more musical endeavors.

Kalva Sue Scott was preceded in death by her parents Calvin John Scott, Jr. and Sue Addie Jameson Scott. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother Cedric John Scott, Aunt Ruby Melton and Uncle Claude Melton, cousins Claudia and Carl Melton, David Jameson, Barbara and Larry Davis, LaFrance Harris and a host of other relatives, friends, and students.
