Chad R. Woolery November 13, 1943 – September 11, 2021 Woolery, Chad R. was born November 13, 1943 in Denver, Colorado to Charles and Fern Woolery. He peacefully joined his heavenly family September 11, 2021. A talented athlete, Chad graduated from Littleton High School in Denver as an All – American in football, and held state records in track & field. While attending Abilene Christian University on an athletic scholarship, Chad majored in history and education. It was during this time that he met his wife, Patsy. After graduating from ACU in 1967, Chad taught and coached for one year in Irving ISD. He then transferred to Dallas ISD, where he completed the duration of his 28 year career in education. Whether employed as a teacher, coach, or any of the numerous administrative roles he held throughout his career in the district, Chad felt a deep responsibility to the communities in which he served. Ensuring that all public school students received a quality education, while teachers and school staff had the necessary support to provide that education was important to him. In 1993, Chad was appointed Superintendent of Dallas Public Schools, allowing him additional opportunities to be of assistance to his community until his retirement in 1996. Chad was a man who loved God, his family, and his Skillman Church community. He had a servant’s heart, always willing to give expecting nothing in return. Chad enjoyed both nature and sports. His passions included camping, fishing, skeet shooting, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Chad is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Patsy; daughter Wendy and grandsons Adam, Jack and Samuel; son Mark and wife Sarah, and grandchildren Noah, Eli, and Lily; and brother, Steve Woolery of Davis, CA.
