Dallas— For Immediate Release — Saltmakers Church in association with Black Elephant Films is proud to announce the release of their new YouTube documentary.

The name of this documentary is Breaking The Curse: Lifting Black Men of South Dallas. It chronicles in raw and transparent terms the challenges black men face in the South Dallas/Fair Park section of Dallas, TX. Many of these men are broken and struggle to survive the daily grind of inner-city life. They deal with a barrage of issues such as unemployment, violence, police brutality, poverty, felony records, homelessness, poor education, and much more.

In their own words, some of these men share how they are breaking these curses. Also, we included interviews with three notable professionals who are making adifference in South Dallas. First, there’s Judge Mark Murrell of the City of Dallas who is also a pastor and South Dallas native. Second, we interviewed Rev. Todd Atkins, the prolific pastor of Salem Institutional Baptist Church. Third, weinterviewed Tracie Washington, the dynamic principal of the Billy Earl Dade Middle School who’s planting seeds of academic greatness in her students.

We hope this documentary motivates all stakeholders in South Dallas to take urgent action to lift black men of South Dallas.

We would love to discuss this documentary with members of the media. Pastor Corbett, the Executive Producer, can be reached directly at:
