“Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). When we are going through tough time, it’s difficult to have a thankful heart. But in these situations, it is important that we remain thankful. We must be thankful, because having a thankful heart can help us get through difficult situations.

We may think we are unable to get through the dark storm, but we can. God is waiting for us to show Him that we are still thankful for every part of our circumstances. Does this mean we should smile through it? No. It does mean that we should acknowledge our struggle, seek God’s will, and be thankful for the opportunity to give thanks in our difficult times and our good times.

If you are in a low point of your life, and you’re able to still give thanks despite of your circumstance, you’re on the right path. God wants us to be thankful in all situations for those who believe in Christ. We are also supposed to be joyful and to stay in prayer. A joyful and prayerful heart can help us to be thankful. How can you pray and not be thankful to God for your blessings? I believe it’s impossible.

Let’s try to have a joyful and thankful heart all this week. No matter what you encounter, take it to the Lord in prayer and allow your heart to remain joyful and thankful. You’ll see your attitude change and God moving in your circumstances. Can you do that this week? I know I will. Amen? Amen.
