Have you found yourself in another difficult situation? If you have, you’re not alone. Life has its ups and downs. There is always a situation that we are either coming out of or about to go into.  However, we don’t have to go it alone. In the book of Nahum it says, “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust Him” (Nahum 1:7).

Too often we feel like when we are in difficult situations, we feel as if we are in it alone, but we are not. Our Heavenly Father can be our strength when we are not sure as to what we need to do. He can be the one we turn to when we have no other place to go. That’s why the last part of that verse is most important. It says, “…and He knoweth them that trust Him” (Nahum 1:7). What does this mean?

This means that we have to trust Him once we turn toward Him. And if we are willing to trust Him, then we must also have a relationship with Him.

He’s not a God who forces us to trust and believe in Him, He gives us a choice.  And for those who know Him, believe in Him, and trust Him means that there is a relationship that He has with them. When a relationship has already been established, often there is some kind of trust. Without having a real relationship, there can be no trust.

If you’re looking outside of your relationship with Christ to find answers, you need to come back to your center and begin to trust Him again. Build your relationship with Him and allow Him to be your strength and your “stronghold”. God is waiting on you to turn to Him and allow Him to be the strength you need. Let God be your stronghold. Can you do that? I know I will. Amen? Amen.
