If you have been following the news lately, you can see the signs are quickly coming together. The tragedy of flight MH17 left the nation and the world shocked and in dismay. I’ve been praying for the families who have lost their friends, husbands, wives, children, and grandparents to this careless tragedy. Yet, even in this type of situation there is still hope.

I am reminded that as we rush through our days and casually plan our future, God wants to remind us that we should quiet ourselves and acknowledge Him. “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10).

When the world has collectively cried together because it is difficult to understand how a passenger flight was so carelessly shot down, we know that every nation has been touched by this tragedy. Still in all of this, God wants us to acknowledge Him. We must acknowledge that He is the living God.

If your heart has been burdened by the loss of flight MH17, then take time to pray for the families that are left behind. They need to know that they are not alone. They need to know that people around the world are coming together to lift them up in prayer. Amen? Amen.
